Kahoot!  is a free interactive platform for creating and hosting quizzes/surveys (known as kahoots) used for audience response, assessment and teaching with gamification at the it's core mechanism. The system works in the cloud and relies on a teaching device (or computer) to control the kahoot and BYOD (Tablets, Phones and, Desktops and Laptops) for students to participate via a web browser or the dedicated app.

The platform consists of multiple choice questions (up to 4 single choice answers) or Jumbles - where a student must arrange up to 4 answers into the correct sequence - which are displayed on the screen using solid colours and shapes for each answer and matching coloured/shaped buttons shapes appearing on the student device. Each question is also timed and scored based on the correctness of the answer and how fast a given a student or team answered it in.
