Due to the nature of how our systems work, occasionally when a component is turned off, the projector or TV screen may appear blank. If this happens,  please check the following:

  • Is the projector actually on? - Our older systems contain controllers that merely send commands to the Projector or TV and have no way of monitoring whether a system is actually on. Unfortunately if a projector is manually turned off or goes into "sleep" mode after receiving no signal from the PC/laptop (to conserve energy and lamp life), in legacy rooms this can leave the controller "on" and the projector "off". To resolve this, if you have a withe Extron AV controller, simply press the "On" button on the controller to wake it up again. If you are using an Extron or AMX branded touchpanel, use the "System Off" or "Shutdown" buttons on the screen to power off the rest of the AV system, then power this back on again at the welcome screen to bring everything online at the same time. In order to reduce the chances of this happening, we kindly ask room users to power off the system when they have finished using the "Off" button on the controller. Please don't try to manually reach the projector.
  • Is your chosen device actually on? - Check for green power lights or a faint glow from the projector's output Some of our newer systems currently display a "Black" screen rather than a white Health Academy logo if no signal is detected. This can sometimes lead to confusion that projectors are off when it's actually on. We are working to unify this and make as many displays as possible show the same thing. For television based rooms, we recommend pressing a source button or using the volume controls. If you see a response on the screen, the TV is on and the source is either off or disconnected.
  • If using a Laptop, Tablet or Phone, is your device set up correctly? - Please check the guides for VGA or HDMI under the No Image on the Screen? section.
  • Are the Cables Connected Securely to your Device and to any faceplates? - Again, please check the guides above for specific information.

If you continue to experience issues after following these steps, please log a support ticket using the New Ticket button above. For urgent support in training, please contact our reception team in your respective centre or call the number at the top or bottom of this page in their absence.
